The new Nitrate Vulnerable Zone (NVZ) regulations are having a significant impact on many farm businesses. The rules come into effect on 1 January 2012.
The regulations only apply to land in the NVZ, which covers much of the south east of England, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Cheshire and Lancashire.
The new rules mean farmers have to keep more records and provide increased storage facilities.
Smiths Gore Farm Manager Duncan Winspear explains the regulations in more detail in the attached article.
