Leading rural advisors Smiths Gore and chartered accountants Saffery Champness have joined forces to demonstrate how the proposed 'Mansion Tax' is riddled with anomalies. The Liberal Democrats are currently pressing for the tax, which would be levied at a rate of 1 per cent on properties valued over £2 million, to be incorporated into the Chancellor's Budget on 21 March.
